The Imam and critical scholar Ibn Daqiq al-Eid presented this invaluable commentary on Arba‘in al-Nawawiyyah (The Forty Hadith) by Imam al-Nawawi. In that work, al-Nawawi compiled forty hadiths encompassing many branches of Islamic knowledge: some pertain to fundamental principles (usul), others to matters of practice (furu‘), while others address jihad, asceticism (zuhd), and etiquette (adab). Overall, each of these hadiths represents a magnificent principle of the religion.
