Death is life’s greatest mystery; I chose deliberately to address it in this book—not to flee from it, but rather to walk alongside it and contemplate it. Life and death are two faces of a single truth. It is my hope that, after reading this book, we may replace our fear of death with acceptance—or perhaps even love—for it is the ultimate truth of our existence. And when it arrives, let us welcome it with hearts filled with confidence. Let us die courageously—devoid of fear, and at peace with our destiny. The day of my departure is the day of my wedding. Fleeing from death is a slow death for the soul, whereas accepting it is a new life. Let us, therefore, prepare ourselves for that moment, starting now.
