Abd al-Jalil al-Ghazal, the sole survivor of the desert prison, leans on his cane, dragging his broken body through the desert, desperately trying to reach his former village, "Valley of Tears." He is accompanied by the prison guard's dog, which has become his companion and only friend in this desolate wilderness.
