The explanation of Ibn Abil 'Izz al-Hanafi (731/1331 - 792/1390) of the 'Aqidah al-Tahawiyyah' of the Egyptian theologian and Hanafi jurist Abu Ja'far Ahmad al-Tahawi (d. 321/933), an important explanation of the Sunnah as practiced by Imam Hanifa. The explanation by Ibn Abi al-Iz al-Hanafi, may God have mercy on him, of Matn al-Tahawiyyah is considered one of the most famous explanations. It is spread widely and been of great benefit, gaining acceptance. It has been printed multiple times and was dedicated to both learning and teaching. What distinguishes it is that it follows the way of the righteous predecessors (Salaf) and it contains explanations and clarity that are not found in other explanations. it has show the methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah in receiving and deducing evidence. It has compiled a solid summary of what Ibn Taymiyyah had stated in his encyclopedias and volumes. The explainer excelled in the style and formulation of these sayings, following a beautiful arrangement and a clear structure.
