«'Izz al-Din al-Qassam and Pages from the HIstory of Bilad al-Sham» a biography by Hussam al-Din Bulbul.

The city of Jableh, located on the Syrian coast overlooking the Mediterranean, is proud of its sons like no other city. Among the most famous of them is the Sheikh of the Mujahideen, «Izz al-Din al-Qassam,» who lived through the end of the sagging Ottoman era and the beginnings of Western colonialism. He revolted against injustice and fought tyranny, making no distinction between one region and another in the Levant. He resisted the French occupation in Syria and the British in Palestine.

He was martyred in the land of Palestine, which the British had left to the Jews. With his departure to the Most High, a bright page of one of the great men of the Levant was turned. Although his pure body departed this life, his spirit continues to roam the corners of the Islamic world, inspiring the nation's youth with high aspirations to reject injustice and tyranny and to fight usurpers regardless of their color, gender, or capabilities.

This book clearly demonstrates that al-Qassam was neither a terrorist, nor an oppressor nor an aggressor, but rather a mujahid in accordance with the principles of the tolerant Sharia and its precise regulations. The eloquent author, with his graceful pen, was able to depict al-Qassam's era with the precision of an artist, and to include in his book shining pages from the history of the Levant and its revolutions, just as he depicted al-Qassam's life. We do not think that anyone has done al-Qassam justice as the author of this book has.
