«The Arab Conquests in the Narrations of the Vanquished» a work of history by Lebanese journalist and writer Husam Itani. The Arab conquests are a foundational event in Arab-Islamic history. However, the voices of the vanquished peoples were absent from the Arab record, an absence that had negative consequences for shaping the image of Arabs and Muslims about themselves.

For the first time, a book in Arabic presents the accounts recorded by the vanquished peoples about the conquests, based on original sources. From Byzantine chroniclers to Coptic priests, Zoroastrian clerics, and Chinese historians, to Jewish chroniclers and Spanish monks, a different and new picture of the Arab conquests as a global event emerges.
