Early Arabic poetry of Ka'b ibn Malik al-Ansari (d. 50/670 or 51/671). The poet converted to Islam. He was a Companion, and one of the three poets who failed to attend the invasion of Tabuk. His poetry is considered a historical record of major events that accompanied the birth of Islam. His diwan contains an introduction, then the poetical works. The poems are stated with the measures, and the verses are numbered. There are footnoted explanations. The book also includes an appendix with his biography, drawn from some books of literature and biographies. Indexed.
