«The Moderation in Belief» is a major theological work by Abu Ḥamid Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad al-Ghazali. In this book, Ghazali makes an attempt to respond to the extreme literalists and the Muʿtazilites. It is the balance between reason and revelation that led to the title of book «The Moderation in Belief», in which he clarified the doctrine of the Sunnis and the community and cited rational and textual evidence upon it, clarifying who is permissible to delve into this knowledge and who is not permissible, explaining the attributes of the Lord Almighty in the manner in which He made it.
