Divided into two sections: the first section, the pre-Islamic poets, placed in ten classes, the poets of elegies, and the poets of Arab villages, The second section, which were the Islamic poets, also placed them in ten classes, mentioning the names of the poets, their lineages, their news, and some of their poetry and poetic narrations. The end of the book is a general index of the book, excluding poetry.
