«History, how do we understand it? How do we benefit from it?» by Prof. Dr. Abd al-Karim Bakkar. The author seeks to raise awareness of scholars and layman alike of two important issues: The first is to understand the nature of the historian's work in history, his feelings and data he uses in order to take an objective position, in order to reduce the deception in history. The second is making use of historical data in understanding man at the level of individual and social behavior. This is; understanding man while he is in power, and when he is rich and poor, Muslim and non-Muslim. We also want to understand the divine laws that govern the human journey and the conditions of human existence on this earth. These understandings will assist in knowing ourselves and our reality, and will guide to better understandings in anticipating our future.
