The classical biography of the Prophet (p) by Ibn Hisham (d.218/833). Ibn Hisham edited the biography written by Ibn Ishaq (85-151 AH), which has no copy in existence.

Much of the material in Ibn Hisham's work was left in the original words, with interpolation by Ibn Hisham. This work is a compilation of anecdotes and traditions more than a traditional biography.
