نبذة عن الكتاب: كتاب «جامع بيان العلم وفضله» قدَّم فيه صاحبه جملةً من آداب التعلُّم، وما يزلم العالمَ والمتعلِّم التخلُّقُ به والمواظبة عليه، وبين وجهَ الطلب، وما حُمِد ومُدح فيه من الاجتهاد والنَّصَب، إلى سائر أنواع آداب التعلُّم والتعليم، وفضل ذلك. فقام ببيان ذلك بما روي عن سلف هذه الأمة رضي الله عنهم أجمعين. لنتبع هديهم ونسلك سبيلهم، ونعرف ما اعتمدوا عليه من ذلك مجتمعين أو مختلفين في المعنى منه؛ عسانا بذلك كلِّه أن ننال ما نالوه من علمٍ ورتبةٍ وشرفٍ.

An early work by Yusuf Ibn Abd Allah Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr al-Qurtubi, the famous Maliki judge and scholar in Lisbon. This is a collection of brief statements of science and virtues and what should be essential to know. A book of hadiths, stressing the importance of knowledge.
