A treatise on Arabic rhetoric, being a summary of the extensive commentary by Imam Mas'ud ibn Umar Taftazani's (ca, 722/1322-792/1389?). Taftazani' work was a summary of the work titled 'Talkhis al-Miftah' the famous Arabic language study of rhetoric by al-Khatab al-Qazwini (Jalal al-Din Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Qazwini, 666/1268 - 739/1338). Qazani's work was in turn a summary of the the third part of the early Arabic grammar work, «Miftah al-Ulum» (Key to the Disciplines) by Yusuf ibn Abi Bakr Sakkaki (d. ca 626/1229).
