Sharar al-Nar is a legendary figure who plays a pivotal role in the events of the novel *Fictionary* by Maysalun Hadi. This man—a perpetual runner—is capable of outpacing trains; he takes a young boy named Ahmadani under his wing, teaching him the art of running. Sharar al-Nar also falls in love with the boy’s mother, Rayhana, though he never speaks of his affection directly. Instead, he expresses his devotion through the care and attention he lavishes on the young boy, who has lost his father. As he grows up, Ahmadani becomes deeply attached to his mentor and trainer, Sharar al-Nar, developing a profound passion for running across the vast, open wilderness. One day, the two cross the border from Al-Samawa toward the Hejaz, leading to an unforeseen turn of events. Ahmadani undergoes a series of experiences that bring the novel to a deeply moving conclusion. The story is set in the early 20th century, a time when railways were in their infancy—a presence that manifests in the novel as Sharar al-Nar and his protégé repeatedly outrun the trains traveling along the line between Baghdad and Basra.

شرار النار هو الشخصية الأسطورية المؤثرة في أحداث رواية (فكشنري) لميسلون هادي.. حيث يستطيع هذا الرجل الراكض أن يسبق القطارات، وهو الذي يأخذ معه الفتى (أحمداني) لكي يعلمه الجري أيضاً.. كما أنه يقع في غرام ريحانة والدة الفتى، ولا يبوح لها بحبه، إلا من خلال اهتمامه ورعايته للفتى الصغير، باعتباره يتيماً من جهة الأب.. يشب الأحمداني متعلقاً باستاذه ومدربه شرار النار، عاشقاً للركض بين البراري والجرود.. وذات يوم يعبران الحدود من السماوة إلى الحجاز، فيحدث ما لم يكن بالحسبان، ويمر الأحمداني بتجارب عدة، تصل معها الرواية إلى نهاية مؤثرة للغاية. تدور أحداث الرواية في مطلع القرن العشرين حيث كانت السكك الحديدية في بداياتها.. وكانت حاضرة في الرواية من خلال استباق شرار النار وتلميذه للعربات التي كانت تمر على خط السكك بين بغداد والبصرة.
