Translated to Arabic from the French 'Le Dernier Seigneur de Marsad' (The Last Lord of Marsad), by Lebanese author and teacher of French Literature, Sharif Majdalani. This is a love story taking place in Beirut in the 1960s - a woman leaves her home and rich father, and flees with her fiance...They try to get married secretly but the plans fall apart. The story is woven around the events in Lebanon going into the 1960s and 1970s and sinking into civil war - the hero is lost in the history and the equations of power and influence.
