«Islamic Thought: A Scientific Reading», by Algerian philosopher Muhammad Arkoun (1928-2010) with translation of Hashim Salih. Arkoun calls for a deconstructive methodology to be applied to explore the various levels of heritage...He analyzed the Islamic intellectual system, how it emerged and was shaped and functioned over the centuries. Then he argued that it prevents the renewal of thought in the Arab-Islamic field.
