A novel in the Arabic language by syrian writer Muhammad Shaban. Barhum is a homeless on the streets of Damascus. The novel tells the details of living on the street, a simple man with a defect that kept him from marriage. He fled his village after falling in love, going to Damascus where he fell in love-from a distance-with a famous actress. Barhum's dialogues with himself and a writer who was kind to him form the backbone of the novel...
