«Execution Convoy: Memoirs of a Prisoner in Tehran», an autobiographical novel (originally published as «Remembering Akbar») by Behrooz Ghamari-Tabrizi. In the tumultuous world that follows the great events, the narrator Akbar releases his memory, as the life that hid under the cloak of the victor and hid behind the walls of breaking tells the life that unfolds on the threshold of death.
The book chronicles the aftermath of the Iranian revolution of 1979, weaving a tale of characters sharing a crowded death row in Tehran's notorious Evin Prison.
Translation to Arabic by Reem Tawil.
بهروز قمري أستاذ تاريخ وعلم اجتماع ومدير «مركز دراسات جنوب آسيا والشرق الأوسط» في جامعة إلينوي في إربانا-شامبين الأميركية.
