إذا نظرنا إلى الحرية في نطاقها التاريخي وجب علينا أن نعترف أن المؤشرات عليها في البلاد العربية ضعيفة.. لكن المجتمع العربي مليء بصدى دعوة متجددة إلى الحرية، و بدأ بعض عناصر ذلك المجتمع يتعمقون في مفارقات مفهومها، مفارقات تقود حتما إلى الوعي بمزالق تشخيصها في دولة معينة. في نظام معين أو في فرد معين..
المهم في قضية الحرية هو أن تبقى دائما موضوع نقاش، بوصفها نابعة عن ضرورة حياتية، لا بوصفها تساؤلاً أكاديميا.
مهما تنوعت صورة الحرية، يبقى البحث فيها وسيلة للاحتفاظ بها على رأس جدول الأعمال لأن الوعي بقضية الحرية هو منبع الحرية.
