The novel is grounded in a dual foundation: one rooted in reality and the other in imagination, through which the novelist Ibrahim Nasrallah recounts an experience well worth revisiting and reading. In this endeavor, the author joined a group of Arab and international volunteers on an expedition to ascend the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro—a charitable initiative whose proceeds benefit the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. These funds support children suffering from various illnesses, as well as those who have endured grievous injuries at the hands of Zionist occupation forces—including amputations, the loss of an eye, or severe internal organ damage.
