Translated to Arabic, 'Un Chant écarlate' (Scarlet Song, 1986), a novel by Senegalese Muslim author and feminist Mariama Ba (1929-1981). Ba wrote in the French language. Her writings reflect her frustration with the fate of African women. This is Ba's second novel, published after her death. 'It is a love story between two star-crossed lovers from different ethical backgrounds, fighting the tyranny of tradition.' (Wiki)
