The title Multaqa al-Abhur ("The Confluence of the Seas") refers to al-Halabi’s synthesis of the four most authoritative late-classical Hanafi legal primers (mutun), merging their core legal rulings (masa'il) into a single fluid manual.
It synthesizes legal issues from:
Mukhtasar al-Quduri (by Al-Quduri)
Al-Mukhtar (by Al-Mawsili)
Kanz al-Daqa'iq (by Al-Nasafi)
Al-Wiqayah (by Burhan al-Shari'ah)
Al-Halabi did not merely combine them; he also added selected rulings from other classical references (like Al-Hidayah) and systematically indicated which legal positions were the relied-upon (mu'tamad) and preferred rulings for issuing legal verdicts (fatwa).
