A masterpiece of contemporary literature.
Translated to Arabic, «Rayuela» (Hopscotch, 1963), a novel by Argentine-French novelist, short story writer, essayist, and translator, Julio Cortázar (1914-1984). This unique work lets the reader choose between a linear and a non-linear reading, with alternate sequences of chapters and some designated 'expendable' chapters. The action takes place in Buenos Aires and Paris, and the main character is a well-read Argentine man who lives a bohemian life. Translated to the Arabic by Ali Ibrahim Ali Manufi.
