«The Country of Sad», a historical novel by Moroccan writer Abd al-Ilah ibn Arafah. This novel tells the story of the poet, jurist, poor and disinterested prince, Abu al-Hassan al-Shashtari, who immigrated from Andalusia and Morocco to the East, to fulfill his dream of travel. In the novel, history and reality mix with imagination. To realize the difference, the reader will follow in the footsteps of the hero of this novel and travel through the lands of Aqali.
