«Moderation in the Holy Qur'an», a thematic interpretation of the Qur'an by Dr. Ali Muhammad al-Sallabi. The author looks at the evidences in the Qur'an that Allah established Islam as a middle, fair and just nation. From Surah al-Baqarah 1:143 «Thus have We made of you an Ummah [nation] justly balanced» (Yusuf Ali). The Messenger, chosen from the best, was of middle lineage and position, and following him were the Rightly Guided. But many deviations have form over generations moving away from the approach of moderation and mediation drawn by the Holy Qur'an. In the midst of this painful reality there is an urgent need to guide the nation to the straight path and the moddle path. The author pondered the issue of exaggeration estrangement, excessiveness and negligence, and found that the Noble Qur'an has drawn the approach of moderation for us in all aspects, principles, belief, worship, manners, behaviour, conception and action. This work is to show the reader the Qur'an's determination of moderation.
