Translated to Arabic, 'Thaïs', the famous novel by French author Anatole France (1844-1924, Nobel Prize 1921). First published in 1890. the novel is based on events in the life of Saint Thaïs of Egypt, an ascetic hermit said to have lived in the 4th century CE. In the work he meets a famous beauty who he converted to Christianity, He is confused by his emotions toward her.
