"Tadhkirat Uli al-Albab wa al-Jami' li al-Ajab al-Ajab" (The Reminder of the Intelligent and the Comprehensive Collection of Marvelous Wonders), known to the general public, publishers, and writers as Tadhkirat Dawud, was Sheikh Muhammad's starting point for collecting and selecting the words of his dictionary. That's why he titled it "Tafsir Mufradat al-Antaki in the Tunisian Dialect." Dawud was Dawud ibn Umar al-Antaki, who was blind and born in Antioch. He moved from there to Cairo, where he died in 1599 AD.
