Contemporary Political Islam: Reviews and rebounds, a study by Radwan Sayyid. 1st published in 1997, it quickly sold out under heavy criticism from fundamentalist and liberals, the first because they saw it as unjust and biased on Islam, the second because they way it as a justification of the trend of conservative Islam. This edition with corrections and a new introduction by the author.
