Classic Dictionary of Arabic Language by Imam Abi Bakr Shams al-Din al-Razi (d.ca.666/1268). This dictionary was compiled as an abridgment of al-Sahih by al-Jawhari (d.393 AH), and al-Razi condensed to include only words in fairly common usage, or used in the Qur'an. He stated in the introduction that he included only words he believes were essential for a serious scholar to know and memorize. This dictionary is for the serious student already familiar with Arabic and different verb forms and the like. Two color text.

Al-Razi (Mohammad ibn abi Bakr-)
الرازيّ (محمد بن أبي بكر -) (؟- بعد 666هـ/ ؟ - بعد 1268م) هو محمد بن أبي بكر بن عبد القادر الرازيّ، لقبه: زين الدين، نشأ في مدينة الريّ، وهي أصله، واجتهد في تحصيل العلوم المتنوعة: اللغة والفقه والتفسير والحديث والأدب والتصوف وكان مولعاً بالقراءة وأصبر الناس على المطالعة، لا يملّ من ذلك. لم يقيّد المترجمون بدقة سنة ولادته، ولا سنة وفاته، وفي خبرٍ أنه سمع من صدر الدين القونوي كتابه «جامع الأصول» في أحاديث الرسول r لابن الأثير سنة 666هـ، فهو عاش على الأقل إلى هذه السنة.
