'Bethlehem Maniacs', a novel in Arabic by Usama Issa. Tells the story of Bethlehem 'madmen' and its people. Symbolic of the homeland that is eroding under the weight of the pollitical changes that swept it. The writings are almost 'virgin' in style, and provides a picture of the Palestinians as they are, human beings, without rhetorical tone or lyrical monologues. New novel in both subject matter and in form.
