Fuyuko lives alone, working as a freelance proofreader. In her thirties, she struggles to form meaningful connections; her direct personal interactions are limited almost entirely to Hijiri—a relationship that began as professional but has since evolved into a personal one. When Fuyuko looks at herself in the mirror, she sees a woman who is weary and soulless—someone who never learned how to truly live her life.
Light is her sole source of solace. Once a year—specifically on the night of her birthday—she ventures out for a walk, wandering the streets of Tokyo to catch glimpses of its myriad lights. That is, until she has a chance encounter with a man—a fleeting moment that awakens something new within her. Through this encounter, will she be able to transcend the memories of her painful past and dismantle the walls that surround her?
