The book recounts the true story of the White Rose (Die Weiße Rose), a non-violent anti-Nazi resistance group active in Munich between 1942 and 1943.
It focuses on five university students (studying medicine, biology, and philosophy) alongside their philosophy professor, Kurt Huber, who printed and distributed anti-Nazi leaflets before being executed after a summary trial.
