«Return to Haifa», the famous 1970 novel by Palestinian author, journalist and activist, Ghassan Kanafani (1936-1972). The novel is the story of a Palestinian couple who had been living in the Palestinian town of Ramallah under Jordanian administration until the West Bank fell under Israeli occupation after the six day war...the father returns to visit Haifa, last seen in 1948...where the remembered Palestinian past and present Israel changes create a feeling of out of place and time...
