Through this novel—the second installment of *The Cactus*—a woman’s consciousness of her own powers and potential begins to unfold. She rejects the notion of female weakness, engages in resistance, and allows this revolutionary spirit to permeate both her life and her sense of self. Sahar Khalifeh’s revolution is one that upends social norms—a trajectory not confined solely to the political sphere—where a woman’s active role in revolutionizing her own social reality becomes an integral part of the resistance against the occupation in the Palestinian territories.
