The Tree of the Birds' an award winning tale translated from the Turkish 'Kuş Ağacı', by author and poet Mustafa Ruhi Shirin (1955-). This is an imagined and interesting tale that shows the life of plants and animals. The tree is a sanctuary for birds of all kinds...the birds come and go as the tree ages...then it burns. But from the roots it sprouts again, a seedling like the mother tree. Someday its branches will again be a joyful home to birds.
