Translated to Arabic, 'The Twenty-Fifth Hour' by the Romanian writer Constantin Virgil Gheorghiu (1916-1992), the book first published in 1949, also adapted into a film in English in 1967. The novel depicts the plight of a naive young Romanian farmhand under a labyrinth of German, Soviet and American occupation of Central Europe. This narrative work raises questions about the tragic fate of man.
