The history of Lebanon, 634-1516 by Kamal Salibi. The author deals with various local, regional and external factors that led to the emergence of the Lebanese entity. He addresses the Lebanese mountain and neighborhood conditions in the Middle Ages, from the advent of Islam to the end of the Mamluk state in the wake of the Ottoman conquest in the early 16th century - the history being obscure thus open to different stories.
