An important Arabic-Arabic dictionary by Ahmad bin Ali al-Muqri al-Fayyumi, (d.770/1368). Al-Fayyumi (in reference to Fayyu Iraw, not Fayyum Egypt) was a 14th century scholar and author.
This book is one of his most important linquistic works. Its wide scope makes it a useful general dictionary. Fayyumi took care in its arrangement, in highlighting meanings and usages, and grammar rules, verbs, purals, and details in linguistic, morphological and grammatical issues. A useful and elucidating dictionary.
