A Mashyakha is a book that compiles the names of a scholar's teachers (shaykhs) and the specific narrations (ahadith) they transmitted from each of them. It serves as a record of a scholar's chain of transmission for Hadith, demonstrating their learning and the authenticity of their narrations. These works are crucial for verifying the chains of transmission (isnads) in Hadith and for understanding the scholarly lineage of Hadith narrators.
