Translated to Arabic, 'Stone of Patience', originally published in English in 2012, by prize-winning Afghan writer and film-maker Atiq Rahimi (b. 1962, Kabul). In this novel, Rahimi reduces the tragedy of his country to a narrow room where a young woman ensures the comfort of her husband, who was struggling in the more absurd wars, after suffering a gunshot wound in the neck.
