The hero of the novel, 'Lucas', is a historian, orientalist and visual artist. He fell in love with an Arab country and built his home in the high mountains to be a civilization of art, music, literature and creativity. He loved the Arabs and they loved him, but the hand of treachery reached out to him from a man working in real estate sales who coveted owning his house.
