In his gnostic literary project, the author transports us back to the first century of the Hijra, employing a novel narrative structure centered on a pivotal, monumental figure. The novel opens with the birth of Ali ibn Abi Talib within the very sanctuary of the Kaaba, followed by his guardianship under the Prophet and his immersion in prophetic wisdom—experiences through which the young man matures, embodying the virtues of chivalry and spiritual nobility (*Futuwwa*). Following the Hijra, he married Fatimah al-Zahra, with whom he was blessed with two sons: Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn. He endured profound grief following the passing of the Prophet, and subsequently that of Fatimah; yet, he rose to the task of teaching, issuing religious rulings, and adjudicating matters that had proven intractable to the people—thereby fulfilling the prophecy that he was indeed "the Gate to the City of Knowledge." He lived through the era of the Rightly Guided Caliphate, eventually assuming its leadership amidst the turbulent circumstances of the Great Strife (*al-Fitna al-Kubra*).

Steering clear of doctrinal disputes, sectarian alignments, and political partisanship, this novel brings the reader closer to Imam Ali as a human being. It addresses the many questions people have ceaselessly raised regarding him: Why was he singled out for such an exceptional status in the history of Islam? Why did the legacy of wisdom and chivalry ultimately devolve upon him? Why have Muslims throughout the ages been so keen to trace the chains of prophetic lineage and spiritual authority back to him? And, finally, how imperative it is today that this great man be accorded the justice he deserves, and that people find reconciliation and unity around his figure.
