About Burhan al-Din Marghinani:
Burhān al-Dīn Abu’l-Ḥasan ‘Alī bin Abī Bakr bin ‘Abd al-Jalīl al-Farghānī al-Marghīnānī (1135-1197 AD) was an Islamic scholar of the Hanafi school of jurisprudence. He was born to an Arab family whose lineage goes back to Caliph Abu Bakr al-Siddiq. He was born in Marghinan near Farghana (in present day Uzbekistan). He died in 1197 (593 AH). He is best known as the author of al-Hidayah, which is considered to be one of the most influential compendia of Hanafi jurisprudence (fiqh).

Shaykh al-Islam Shams al-Din Ahmed ibn Sulayman ibn Kamal Pasha (d. 940/1535), known as Ibn Kamal (after his grandfather Kamal Pasha) was an Ottoman historian , jurist, judge, and hadith scholar of Turkish origin. He earned the respect of the three sultans under whose reign he served, was a multi-talented scholar who produced works in the fields of religious sciences such as hadith, tafsir, and jurisprudence, as well as history, literature, philosophy, linguistics, and medicine. With his extensive knowledge of the many sciences and the works he produced in these fields, he is considered one of the greatest representatives of Ottoman science and culture in the first half of the 16th century.
