The Collected Poetic Works. In these poetic works, Nidaa Khoury (b. 1959) appears to us with a new voice that, in large part, departs from the traditional poetry that has long been followed in Palestinian poetry that struggles inside (Israel). In her poetry, there is a new approach to political and social commitment, characterized by transparency and sensitivity. The vision of the external world, with all its data, revolves around the poet’s (I), who reflects on her page all that is in it of love and violence. The poetic self shines through the (other) to whom many of her poems are directed, and she makes love and sacrifice, in their spiritual dimension, the basis of the relationship between them. She sees nothing of the (other) but the human being, so she revolts in her poetry against the violence that brings a person into an endless chain of links.
