'A Lapse of the Earth' (1991), a novel by well-known Lebanese author Rashid al-Daif (b. 1945). Daif has been translated into many languages, including French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Swedish, Dutch, Italian, Greek and Japanese.
