ولقاءات وأنشطة ودور هام رئيسي مشارك في صناعة القرار أو قريب منه. ورغم إنكارها الدائم أن دورها لم يكن دوراً سياسياً بالدرجة الأولى؛ إلا أن غالبية المراقبين يؤكدون أن دورها كان سياسياً بالدرجة الأولى، كما أنها كانت على علاقة ومعرفة وثيقة بما يدور على الساحة السياسية ومراكز صناعة القرار ليس في فترة السادات فحسب؛ وإنما منذ زواجها منه عام 1949 وحتى وفاته في السادس من أكتوبر عام 19881، فقد كان بيت السادات هو المكان المختار لكل من عبد الحكيم عامر وجمال عبد الناصر خلال سنوات الخلاف بينهما والتي امتدت بين عامي اثنين وستين وحتى هزيمة يونيو\/حزيران عام 1967؛ كما كان عبد الناصر بعد ذلك يتردد بشكل دائم على بيت السادات، وكما ذكرت السيدة جيهان كان يتناول عشاؤه كل يوم في بيت السادات، حتى اليوم الذي توفي فيه عبد الناصر كان من المقرر أن يتناول عشاءه في بيت السادات كما تروي السيدة جيهان في شهادتها، وحينما تولى السادات السلطة بدأ نفوذ الشاهدة يقوى شيئاً فشيئاً في مؤسسات الحكم والدولة بشكل عام، وكان القضاء على ما أطلق عليه السادات مراكز القوى، وهم المعارضون له عام 1971 منطلقاً لها لكي تساهم في ترسيخ أركان حكم السادات ودوره طوال سنوات حكمه من العام 1970 وحتى العام 1981.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eلهذه الأسباب ولأسباب أخرى، ولهذه المراحل الهامة كان لا بد أن تدلي جيهان السادات بشهادتها بشيء من الصراحة والوضوح والشفافية والجرأة في برنامج \"شاهد على العصر\" ضمن حوار مسموع ومرئي هذا وإن الحوار قد يصبح وثيقة ومرجعاً، لا سيما عند يتم بتلقائية وعفوية وصدق وعندما تحفظ تفاصيله ضمن أوراق كتاب.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eلهذه الأسباب وحرصاً من قناة \"الجزيرة\" على تعزيز تواصلها مع مشاهديها في مختلف أنحاء العالم، جاءت فكرة تدوين هذا الحوار مع السيدة جيهان السادات، لتحويل هذا الحوار من على ما يريد أن يعرفه الناس لا ما يريد أن يقوله الشاهد، والغالب أنها تحاول كشف الحقائق المستورة، والأحداث المخيفة، والمواقف المثيرة للجدل والنقاش، ولا تقف عند حد ما يعرفه الناس، وإنما تحاول النفاذ إلى ما وراء الكواليس، وأن تسبر غور أحداث التاريخ من خلال إعداد مطول، واطلاع واسع على المصادر المختلفة ومحاولة استخراج ما هو كامن في نفس الضيف.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eوهذا ما ينطبق على شهادة \"جيهان السادات\" التي كانت السيدة الوحيدة التي أدلت بشهادتها في البرنامج حتى الآن، وهي الأولى التي يتم إصدارها في كتاب. وذلك باعتبار شهادتها كانت من أكثر الشهادات إثارة للجدل علاوة على أن جيهان السادات هي أيضاً شخصية مثيرة للجدل وبقيت كذلك منذ زواجها بالسادات عام ألف وتسعمائة وتسعة وأربعين وحتى وفاته عام واحد وثمانين، بل وربما حتى الآن. إلى جانب هذا التميز في الشهادة وبصاحبتها وفي الحوار بحد ذاته، أضفى أحمد منصور على هذه الشهادة تميزاً من نوع آخر عندما كرس لها هذا الكتاب حيث قام بوضع تصور متميز يخرجه عن كونه مجرد نص حواري إلى أبعد من ذلك، مضيفاً إلى نص الشهادة عدة فصول منها ما دار وراء الكاميرا من أحداث حيث جعل القارئ يعيش كل أحداث هذه الشهادة بدءاً من التفكير في اختيار السيدة جيهان السادات وأسباب اختيارها رغم أنها من الناحية الرسمية لم تتول منصباً رسمياً، مروراً باللقاء الأول معها، ومرحلة الإعداد الطويلة للحلقات والتي استمرت عاماً كاملاً، ومرحلة التسجيل والمونتاج وعرض الحلقات وردود الفعل والتي استمرت ما يزيد على ستة أشهر، وحتى الجلسة الأخيرة في بيتها والتي سبقت تقديم الحلقة الأخيرة من الشهادة وأسباب اعتذارها عن المشاركة في الحلقة التي كانت مقررة على الهواء لمناقشتها من المشاهدين عما ورد في شهادتها، وقد أعد أحمد منصور ذلك في أول فصول الكتاب وسماه \"قصة الشهادة\".\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eأما الفصل الثاني فقد ضمنه نصوص الحلقات الأحد عشر مصاغة باللغة العربية الفصحى، مع الحرص على ذكر محتويات كل حلقة في بداياتها مع وضع عناوين فرعية تساعد الباحث أو القارئ على الوصول بسرعة على ما يريده من معلومات.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eأما الفصل الثالث فقد ضمّنه أهم الردود التي أعدّها أصحابها على ما جاء في شهادة السيدة جيهان السادات بشأنهم، ليختار من ثم أهم ثلاث مقالات نقدية كتبت عن الشهادة من بين عشرات المقالات التي كتبت في الصحف العربية، على اعتبار أنها تمثل أهم ما تناوله الكتّاب من نقد واتجاهات الكتابة لدى من تناولوا الشهادة، مورداً بعد ذلك الرسائل التي انتقاها من بين مئات الرسائل التي وصلته من المشاهدين وقد كانت مجموعة متنوعة عكست الآثار التي تركتها الشهادة لدى المشاهد العربي وهي ما بين مؤيد ومعارض.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eوفي
